This One Day Ride Forever (R4E) motorcycling Workshop was a great success. The Northland Regional Council really appreciates the support from ACC, Whangarei District Council and the ProRider Motorcycle Training & Coaching team – it must also be acknowledged that each of the 20 participating motorcyclists were all very keen and contributed greatly to the success of the day.
There was a wide range of skill levels present and every rider accepted that riding a motorcycle is an on-going educational experience no mater how many years or how many different motorcycles you may have ridden.
The riding Instructors also had a great deal of experience riding/racing motorcycles and importantly the knowledge and skills to observe riders behaviours and offer suggestions from their observations how aspects of the riders behaviours could be improved by minor tweaking.
Riders were videoed while out negotiating the roads under a wide variety of road conditions. The Instructors wearing cameras and having iPads in their bags were able to show each rider on the side of the road, ‘before and after shots’ of riding behaviours that had been discussed, and the immediate improvements achieved.
It was said a number of times by the Instructors that the day that you believe you know it all, should be the day that you give up riding a bike.
A big thank you again to Karel, Howard, Lance, Ken and Steven from ProRider .
We will certainly be working with ProRider again and are planning for Bi-monthly Ride Forever (R4E) training sessions going forward – check out the ProRider website Training page for Whangarei training dates. The Northland Road Safety website will also have reminders of the upcoming Courses.
